We received information from Mr. Made Kosala (Tahura department) that the Mangrove Forest, or Taman Hutan Raya Mangrove, has not been open to the public since the pandemic. Recently, the area was only used for the summit. The price and terms for reopening are still uncertain as we await approval from the central authorities.

Main Attraction of Bali Mangrove Forest Tourism

As one of Bali’s premier ecotourism destinations, the Bali Mangrove Forest is not just a place for recreation but also a hub for environmental education. Travelers can comprehend the significance of conserving the mangrove ecosystem and how this forest shields Bali’s coastline from erosion while providing a sanctuary for diverse wildlife. Bali’s mangrove conservation area is the perfect destination to experience the tranquility of nature.

What is a Mangrove Forest?

Mangrove forests are unique ecosystems consisting of mangrove trees that grow in coastal areas with both fresh and saltwater. Moreover, these ecosystems exist only in tropical regions because mangrove trees cannot tolerate cold temperatures.

One of the primary functions of mangrove forests is to protect coastlines from abrasion by blocking sea waves. Additionally, the strong roots of mangrove trees help hold the soil and reduce erosion.

Additionally, mangrove forests provide a habitat for various animals, such as fish, birds, and reptiles, making them ideal locations for nature lovers and photographers.

Furthermore, mangrove forests are crucial for maintaining air and water quality. Dense vegetation helps filter pollutants, reduce pollution, and improve environmental quality. Therefore, visiting a mangrove forest provides natural beauty and an understanding of the importance of this ecosystem in maintaining environmental balance.
