One of the tourist destinations in Bali that is a favorite of international travelers is visiting the tourist attraction of Ubud. While on vacation in Ubud, visitors will find many exciting things to do. Like riding an ATV in the rice fields, seeing views of the terraced rice fields, cycling in the rural area of Ubud, joining the Bali swing, participating in Ayung River Rafting activities, and walking in the hilly regions of the Campuhan hill. Of all the exciting activities that sightseers can do in Ubud, the one that is free of charge is the Campuhan Ubud hill walk or better known as the Campuhan Ridge Walk.

Campuhan Hill Ubud Location

Of course, those who have never visited Campuhan Hill in Ubud are wondering where Campuhan Ridge Walks Ubud’s location is.

I will explain how to get to the Campuhan Hill Ubud area on this page. In addition, I will also include a Google Map location link on this page. As a result, reaching the ridge walk area at Campuhan Bali will be easier.

The average sightseer who wants to take the Campuhan Ridge Walk starts from the south, where Ibah Ubud is located. In addition, from the south side, the vehicle parking area is quite large and can accommodate several cars.

Look at Google Map Vehicle Parking Area.

How to Get to Campuhan Ridge Walk Location?

Heading to Campuhan Ridge Walk location depends on your hotel in Bali.

If you stay in Ubud and your hotel is close to the Ubud Monkey Forest area, you can ride a scooter to the Warwick Ibah area. Furthermore, I prefer walking on Campuhan hill from the south side, with my scooter parked on the underside of Warwick Ibah hill.

To provide a brief description of how to find a vehicle parking location to get to Campuhan Hill, I will briefly explain below. In addition, the way to get to Campuhan Ubud Hill is assuming you stay in the central Ubud area.

From the crossroads of Puri Saren Ubud/Ubud Royal Palace, you walk towards the west and will pass the site of Taman Saraswati Temple. The walking distance from Puri Saren Ubud to the parking location underside Warwick Ibah hill is about 900 meters.

After you arrive at the Ibah Luxury Villas & Spa area, there is an entrance on the right side before the bend and the bridge. You access this road until you see the Name Ibah, then turn left. Remember, don’t take the straight path.

Once you arrive at the vehicle parking area, you will see a small bridge. The straight path after the bridge will take you to the front gate of the Gunung Lebah temple. If you follow this linear path, you will go around the Gunung Lebah temple walls.

Furthermore, on the right side before the bridge, there are stairs with trekking directions. You will pass this road to get to the Campuhan Hill area.

Visitors who take walks on the Campuhan hill Ubud will witness a green hilly area filled with trees and views of rice fields. I have walked on Campuhan hill several times, either on foot or by bicycle.

In most areas of the hill, there will be a path made of concrete that visitors will pass while walking.

Then after some time you walk, you will reach the Campuhan ridge area. In the Campuhan ridge area, you will see an open space and the Ubud countryside’s nature.

In addition, you will also see several Hilltop Cafe Ubud about a kilometer walk from the south side. You can have lunch or buy a drink here if you feel tired, hungry, or thirsty.

Furthermore, the average price for one dish is around IDR 50,000, or you can buy a drink if you don’t want to eat.

After resting at one of the cafes, I suggest you return from the Campuhan Ubud ridge with the same route you took previously.

How much is the Campuhan Ridge Walk Entrance Fee?

Until now, there has been no entrance fee that you will pay to enter the Campuhan hill area, meaning it is free.

See “Tegalalang Rice Terrace Entrance Fee” >>>.

What Time Does Campuhan Hill Ubud Open?

There are no opening hours to enter the Campuhan hill area because it is open 24 hours. However, there are times when you should visit, and there are times when you should avoid having a visit.

Campuhan Ridge Walk Best Time

Walking on the Campuhan Ubud hill is becoming very popular for Indonesian tourists, International tourists, and residents. Thus, Campuhan Ubud hill is always crowded with tourists, especially in the late afternoon.

If you like activities on Campuhan Hill with more tranquil, it’s a good idea to start walking around 06:00, before sunrise. Besides, you can see less crowd in the Campuhan hill area; you will also be able to see the light from the top of Campuhan Ridge.

So visiting Campuhan Ridge in the morning is the best way to avoid sunburn. In addition, you will be able to feel the fresh breeze.

If you don’t mind seeing crowds during the Campuhan ridge walk, the afternoon around 16:00 is the best time to visit.

Visiting Time, You Need to Avoid

Avoid visiting Campuhan hills during the day because the sun is quite hot, and you will get tired quickly when walking.

In addition, you should also avoid walking on Campuhan ridge walk after sunset. Because in most areas of Campuhan Ridge, there is no street lighting, you will find walking challenging. In addition, when the sky starts to get dark, you will not be able to see any scenery.

For those interested in taking a walk on Campuhan ridge, one of the things you want to ask is about the travel time, and the distance traveled during the Campuhan ridge walk to Ubud.

There are two accesses to the Campuhan ridge area, one from the north and one from the south.

If you depart from the north side, head to the south side to be precise to the location of the Gunung Lebah temple, then you will cover a distance of about 1.2 kilometers with an estimated walking time of 25 minutes.

Vice versa, if you depart from the south side of the Gunung Lebah temple area, reaching the north side of Campuhan ridge will cover the same distance and travel time. So the round trip time will take 50 minutes.

Furthermore, you don’t need to pay attention to travel time because everyone has a different walking pace. Also, the travel time will be longer if you are in the middle of the trip taking lots of photos and sitting relaxed on the hill.

My experience is that it takes about 1.5 – 2 hours to go back and forth during Campuhan Ridge Walk. The travel time includes taking photos and stopping in several areas while looking at the surrounding scenery.

Things You Must Bring

For your convenience, while enjoying a walk in Campuhan Hill, there are several items that you should bring. Here are some things that I consider essential to carry with you.

  • Hat.
  • Sunglasses.
  • Suncream and anti-mosquito cream.
  • Small folding umbrella.
  • Mineral water.
  • Snack.
  • Backpack.
  • Of course, the camera or smartphone.
  • Bring IDR cash if you want to buy food or drink at Hilltop Cafe Campuhan.
  • Drones. You will see many visitors carrying drones when visiting Campuhan ridge.

As for clothes, I am more comfortable wearing shorts, T-shirts, and walking shoes during the Campuhan ridge walk. In addition, please do not litter in the Campuhan Ridge Ubud.

Summary

For those who are currently looking for things to do in Ubud, in my opinion, you should try Campuhan Ridge Walk Ubud. You will be able to see the natural scenery of Ubud and the architecture of the Gunung Lebah temple, and there is no entrance fee.

Currently, the Campuhan ridge walk activity in Ubud Bali is very well known and has always been a priority for tourist activities while on vacation in Ubud. So, if you like outdoor leisure activities but don’t like trekking too hard, you love to see rice fields and hills, and surely you will enjoy the Campuhan Ridge Walk activity.

In addition, the Campuhan Ridgewalk activity does not require you to book in advance, so whenever you have time and when the weather is sunny in Ubud, you can join the Campuhan Ridge Walk activity.
